Do you remember a time when you put your hand in your pocket and found $20 that you forgot you had? Found $50 in the street (with no one to return it to)? Or found a couple of bucks that had fallen between the lounge cushions? Do you remember that feeling of delight you had? That feeling can be yours again……
Sometimes it is a simple case of good luck, such as when Lifestyle Planner crossed my path. You see, I come across extra cash and new ideas to stay ahead of my finances on a regular basis and this all started through the Lifestyle Planner website. My association with this website was a complete stroke of luck, but it has led me to a whole new world of learning and has completely revolutionised the way I take care of my money.
I started out as a silver member for FREE. This involved taking stock of what I had – what were my assets, liabilities, income and expenses? After uploading my account statements and allocating them, I took a good hard look at the figures and was astounded at how much money I had been wasting.
It soon became apparent that I needed to get proactive about my finances and take control. I could gain so much more by upgrading to gold member status and if I was going to really get serious, then I needed to take on the services of a Lifestyle Freedom Coach.
Just in the last couple of months I have made the following changes:
o Memberships and magazine subscriptions review – saved $50/mth ($600 a year)
o Modified Foxtel package – saved $29/mth ($348 a year)
o Actively checked shopping specials for best deals and changed brands in some cases – saved an average of $50/mth ($600 a year)
o Found a local greengrocer providing a huge box of seasonal vegetables and who delivers for free – saved an average of $20/mth ($240 a year)
o Tried selling items online, joined an agency as a TV extra, temp work, online surveys – earned approximately $250
o Switched debit card providers – saved $3/mth ($36 a year)
o Found a local lawn mower – saved $20 a pop ($160 a year)
o Discovered cleanskin wines – saved approximately $90 a case ($360 a year)
o Reviewed bank statements and located incorrectly added fees and charges – saved $150
o Rerouted savings to pay off personal loan early – saving $150/mth
In a really short time, I managed to create an extra $750 a month!
This is just the tip of the iceberg and funnily enough it doesn’t seem to be a sacrifice at all. Keeping a track of my spending and having a coach help me to open up to new ways of doing things has paid me back in spades. The extra money will be invested in quality products with my new Financial Planner which will in turn provide another income stream generating more money.
So, is it luck? If you have stumbled upon this and have been motivated into action, then there probably is an element of luck involved, but in the end there is a secret to success. I just wish I had of known about it sooner.
